Chasing Legends

Owner of HTC-Highroad Bob Stapleton's recent announcement that the team will be disbanded by the end of this year led me to revisit a documentary movie: Chasing Legends.

If you like pro racing, this video is not be missed. Following Team Columbia/HTC in Tour de France 2009, the movie shows us what cycling is all about. The shoots, especially the descents are awesome. After watching this, you will no doubt agree that French television is doing a crappy job of the Tour.

Chasing Legends by Gripped Films is the winner of Golden Ace, Jury Prize and Rising Star awards.

Mountain or Road Bike

Which bike to choose? At first glance, it seems like an easy question: it depends on where you want to ride. But Turkish roads very quickly teach you otherwise with an added bonus of pain aside. Regardless of how well paved the road is, there are always hidden traps that will make you regret your decision if you happen to choose a road bike with its slim and thin tires. Soon, you find yourself testing your flying skills while your fiber-carbon bike is stuck in a drain inlet, which does not do its job properly because it was built in an elevated position with respect to the rest of the road anyway.

So, if you are planning a bicycle trip in Turkey, stick to a mountain bike; they are sturdy, can handle unexpected situations well, and above all they are cheaper compared to their lighter cousins.
